Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida is dedicated to pediatric services and is located within Shands at UF. The pediatric program at Shands Children's Hospital is the second largest in the state of Florida both in number of admissions and patient days. Shands Children's Hospital currently offers all the clinical services delivered at any children's health center in the nation from basic primary care to highly specialized procedures such as transplantation.
Shands at the University of Florida Cancer Hospital – opening November 2009

Located across the street from Shands Hospital, this new 500,000-square-foot facility will house 192 private inpatient beds for a variety of patients, including those receiving diagnostic and therapeutic oncology services. It also will include a Critical Care Center for emergency- and trauma-related services.
The Cancer Hospital Complex is designed to be a welcoming, family friendly place. It will offer a healing garden, a Cancer Patient Resource Center, training rooms, and a conference center with public space for community health fairs, screenings and educational workshops on health issues such as cancer prevention and treatment.

The Davis Cancer Pavilion and Shands Medical Plaza house several outpatient cancer facilities such as Radiation Oncology, Adult Hematology and Oncology, Infusion (chemotherapy) Center and the Skin Cancer Center.
It is located across the street from the Cancer and Genetics Research Complex, where scientists exploring cancer at the cellular, molecular and genetic levels can easily collaborate with health professionals caring for patients. Bringing cancer and genetic scientists into close proximity with clinical cancer specialists at the Davis Cancer Pavilion creates the beginning of a literal campus for cancer treatment and research at UF.

Recruiting nationally acclaimed basic research and clinical translational scientists and having state of the art laboratory space is pivotal in reaching the critical mass and achieving the momentum necessary to move the research and clinical fronts forward in the “war on cancer.” To that end, a new 280,000 gross square feet Cancer and Genetics Research Complex opened June 2006, which houses top UF researchers in cancer and genetics, side by side. This $85 million Gainesville facility consolidates much of the university’s cancer and genetics research under one roof in the largest research building on campus.
